SOS

While on vacation I finished the Project Spectrum blue lace scarf and the fingerless mitts I've been knitting (their specs will be up when they've finished blocking/drying), and haven't started anything new. So now I'm down to one measly project: the nearly-relegated-to-UFO-status Hanging Garden Shawl, which I haven't picked up in months. (I have, however, placed it near to hand, just in case.)

How crazy is this? Pretty crazy, since I'm usually working on five or six projects at any given time. The yarn fumes from Stitches West must have incapacitated me somehow. Oh, every day I look at my stash, and lovingly stroke my recent purchases. (That Honey Lane Farms alpaca is sooo soft!) I daydream about what patterns I want to knit, and hold the anticipation of what's to come close, like a secret crush. I'm not bored, or uninspired; actually quite the opposite. I just haven't cast on anything new.

Well. Enough dilly dallying. Time to get crackin'. I got busy with the ball winder (heh heh) this morning, and wound up a few skeins destined for specific projects. I promised myself that I'll cast on at least one of them by tomorrow night.

Black Water Abbey 2-ply in Pippin for the Central Park Hoodie

Koigu KPM in Semi-Solid 1180 for my sister's Flower Basket Shawl

Knit Picks Shadow in Lost Lake for the Adamas Shawl slated for the next round of Project Spectrum colors

But darn it, I'm still dithering. So I need your help. What should I knit?

You only have 1 project OTN!!! Unbelievable, I say go for it cast all 3 on, that way you can have a choice of what to do when you're in the mood. Of course if the shawl for your sister has a deadline cast it on first. Not much help am I.

I vote for the hoodie. I cannot wait to see that yummy green Black Water Abbey knit up. I also have an ulterior motive. I've been eyeing this project and would love to watch and learn from your progress.

I'm with Marie. Cast on all 3! I'm tempted by the hoodie too and Project Spectrum be-damned! Okay, I really didn't mean that. I got the Roche Harbor scarf pattern from Honey Lane Farms; you know the green scarf hanging at the top of the rack. You can see a picture of it on their website. You're welcome to it if you want to knit your alpaca into something.

If it was me, I would cast on the hoodie, 'cuz that green looks divine, and I love hoodies.

I'm trying to imagine only one project on the go. Only one. I get mine whittled down to oh, ten or so, and then I cast on a bunch more.

Hoodie! Hoodie! Hooodie!

Finally--I can post a comment! Yay! I vote with Marie--Marie-solidarity--cast 'em all on and that way you have some choices. The only thing is, I don't see anything that will qualify as "coffee knitting"--you know, the stuff that's semi-mindless, so you don't muck it up when someone says something excruciatingly funny!

You're the one who took all the Pippin at Stitches! I picked up a couple of patterns at Black Water Abbey and when I asked where the Pippin was they said they had run out. Waahhhh!
I paid for some, and they said they'll mail it to me in the next week. I vote for the hoodie since I'm partial to the yarn. I've gotta go listen to music now to finish up my meme!

Oh, you sure have quite some projects coming up, and they're all so awesome! I especially love the Central Park Hoodie, my fingers are actually itching to try that one too - but, I'd say, cast on all 3! This will keep you entertained, that's for sure! ;) Happy knitting, my friend!

I vote for the Central Park Hoodie! Mostly so I can live vicariously. That's going to be such a cute sweater, and I love that color your knitting it in!
