Behold! Nine inches worth of Central Park Hoodie.
[Insert favorite swear word here. If you're me, it begins with "f."] As feared, it's knitting up super small. It looks like I'm knitting it for a child. Or a supermodel. Or a midget. I can't tell which. There's no way I'll ever be able to block it severely enough to get the size I want. [Repeat favorite swear word.]
The ribbing is driving me crazy with how awful it looks. [Insert second favorite swear word here. If you're me, it begins with "s."] I just found how to fix it. [What the h*ll, how about another one?]
I need a margarita.
Because we all know what happens now, don't we?

Just do it quick - like a band-aid on a hairy chest :)
Owwww! What a bummer! But you weren't liking that ribbing, so it's not the worst thing to start over. You'll be much happier the second time around. And besides, you just like that yarn so much you want to knit it twice...
Just keeping knitting, just keep knitting, just keep knitting.
Well...I had no idea!
I thought I was a perfectionist but I have soooo far to go. Thanks for the links for the 'uber rib' tips..I must confess a quick scan of the technique has got my head swimming, I should come back to that when I'm less low blood sugar ;)
Do you normally go down a needle size when swatching? 'cuz I pulled out the pattern and it calls for size 8s and you are using 7s. Just curious.
Oh NO!! That sucks.....but we all know it will be worth it when you get your perfect FO
As the person who posted that "how to do ribs so they don't look like you knit them drunk" post, please know that I knit the ribs the first time on the wrong needle. The whole thing. Riiip.
The ribs really do look nice when you do it. And if you aren't happy with the size, you might want to rip and go a size bigger. From everything I've read on the KAL, it tends to run a little small, esp. in the arms.
Good luck, whatever you decide. I love the color you picked.
Oh yippee! Central Park Hoodie!
Oh Ripoff! Starting over.
Oh well, that green is glorious enough to deserve a second try.
Speaking of green, I have set up a wee store over at my blog, and it's first come first served. I posted the camo and a wild (and wooly) green too. No offense taken, if you'd rather not shop.
Oh, poor Madge! I'd so love to be with you now, sharing a Margarita and swearing together! ;) Sometimes there's projects that are just driving us crazy, no matter what we do! But I think, after you really didn't enjoy the ribbing in the first place, it might be best just ripping it back and starting anew - this time it'll work out perfectly, I just know that! Fingers crossed, my friend!
Madge! Did you see that there are corrections to the pattern for the CPH?

oh damnit!
Ack! Be strong. It will all be over soon. I hope you got a margarita out of it in any case. ;)
Judy here with BWA yarns (Marilyn is out of the country - lucky lady). I read the post on Aran Knit. Please email me so we can discuss.
